PCB Design Services

What are our PCB Design Services?

1. Schematic Design

Schematic design is the first step in the PCB design process. During this phase, the electrical engineer creates a schematic diagram of the circuit. This diagram is used to determine the component placement and routing of the traces on the PCB.

2. Component Selection

After the schematic diagram is complete, the next step is to select the components that will be used in the circuit. The engineer must consider the size, cost, and availability of the components when making his or her selection.

3. PCB Layout

Once the components have been selected, it is time to lay out the PCB. The layout must take into account the size and placement of the components, as well as the routing of the traces between them. The layout must also meet all applicable safety and EMC standards.

4. Fabrication Drawings

After the PCB layout is complete, fabrication drawings are created. These drawings provide all of the information necessary for manufacturing the PCB, including trace widths, solder mask colors, and via sizes.

5. Bill of Materials

A bill of materials (BOM) is a list of all of the components that are used in a circuit. The BOM includes information such as component values, manufacturers, and part numbers. The BOM is used by both engineers and purchasing agents to ensure that all of the necessary components are available when needed.

6. Gerber Files

Gerber files are digital representations of the fabrication drawings. They are used by PCB manufacturers to produce the physical boards. Gerber files are typically generated from CAD software programs such as Altium Designer or Eagle CAD.

7. Testing and Debugging

After the PCBs have been manufactured, they must be tested to ensure that they function as intended. This process can involve a variety of methods, such as functional testing, in-circuit testing, and optical inspection. If any problems are found, they must be debugged before mass production can begin.

8 . Mass Production

Once all of the testing has been completed and any bugs have been fixed, it is time for mass production to begin. This phase involves creating a large number of identical PCBs using automated processes such as stencil printing and pick-and-place machines.

9 . Quality Control

Quality control is an important part of any mass production process. In order to ensure that all of the PCBs meet specifications, they must be inspected at various stages of production. This inspection can be done manually or using automated optical inspection machines.

10. Warranty and Support

Once the PCBs have been shipped to the customer, the manufacturer must provide warranty and support in case any problems occur. This support can include troubleshooting, repairs, and replacement parts.
